ASSIsTANT HEAD TEACHER
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head Teacher to join our established teams in our Lincolnshire Schools.
About the Job:
Kisimul School in Lincolnshire operates over two sites with their own unique identity at Swinderby, a small village between Lincoln and Newark, and at Acacia Hall, which is about 10 miles North of Lincoln in the village of Friesthorpe, near Market Rasen. While a number of our young people reside in our associated children’s homes, we have a growing number of day placements and anticipate this will continue to increase.
Our children and young people are 8-19 years of age and predominately autistic. In addition they typically have complex learning needs.
These independent special schools are part of Kisimul Group, a national provider of education and care to children and adults with SEND, and reflects its core values of ‘Think Forward, Be Yourself and Grow Together’. The sites have rural outlooks, and we benefit from first class learning spaces with a range of sensory, vocational and immersive facilities, as well as extensive outside footprints for learning and play.
We are a school where you can make a real difference to the lives of young people and their families. Our Meaningful Life model and semi-formal curriculum is something we are really proud of and passionate about. It is incredibly rewarding work, withstanding it comes with challenges related to the complex presentations of learners we support and so requires a resilient practitioner who thrives when identifying solutions and working collaboratively. We are looking for an inspiring Assistant Headteacher to join the leadership team who is:
- first and foremost an excellent teacher and can model engagement with complex learners.
- able to inspire a passion for excellent SEND provision with a background of middle or senior leadership in educational setting
- able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of statutory SEND and regulatory education frameworks
- an excellent communicator who values and is able to foster positive relationships between internal and external colleagues.
