At Kisimul we’re dedicated to helping the people we support expand their life skills, abilities and experiences as part of our therapeutic community and Meaningful Life Model. Our ethos is to put individual needs, values, aspirations and outcomes at the centre of everything we do, providing holistic care and lifelong learning in a nurturing, supportive environment that encourages personal growth and development.
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join the organisation as a Speech and Language Therapist and be a part of our multi-disciplinary team. About the role
The purpose of your role is to support people to develop communication skills to enable them to become more independent and able to live a lifestyle of their choosing. You will have a good understanding of the communication needs of a client group with learning disabilities, autism and a range of complex needs. You will build upon this understanding of needs throughout all individual interactions to bring about best practice in all aspects of engagement.
You will provide universal, targeted and specialist support for the people within the service, as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in a variety of environments. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, carers and stakeholders to promote the wellbeing and best interests of the people supported in our services. You will have the opportunity to build long term relationships with young people and every day you will be able to see the impact that your support has on their learning and quality of life.
About you
You will have a professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and current professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will also be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
