About The Role


NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER – CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE - TIGH ABAID

We are recruiting for Night Support Workers to join our well-established team at our Children and Young People Residential Care Home Tigh Abaid, in Langford, Nr Newark NG23. Hours of work are from 19:30pm to 07:30am on a fixed two week rota. Week1(M,T,F,S,S) Week2(W,Th).

As a Night Support Worker, you will be key in helping young people with complex needs. Our approach. What will you be doing:

Becoming a support worker 

• Working with all levels of the Staff Team to safeguard our young people at all time.
• Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
• Assisting with practical matters relating to care (cooking, cleaning etc.)
• Creating positive relationships with the young people and offering them unconditional dignity and respect.
• Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young people.
• Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
• Ensuring that the needs of the young person are being met and reviewing and recording changes to those needs.
• Actively contributing to the development of the team. Workforce development.

About You


What experience and qualifications do you need:

• A Diploma / BTEC Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.

• A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.

• A strong team player.

• Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Computer literacy.

** Please note : If successful you will be required to attend a two-week training course (paid) 09:00 - 17:00 Mon-Fri prior to starting in service **
