About The Role

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Reporting to the Group Property Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will help maintain the buildings/fittings both internally and externally in our Residential Care Homes and Adult Units. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a trade background or associated building/maintenance experience on a similar site or organisation.  Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a small team of maintenance operatives who carry out general building maintenance and handyman-type works, in response to requests placed in the maintenance books at the various premises by other Kisimul staff.
Co-ordinate duties amongst the team, allocating workload and prioritising tasks, as required.
Carry out occasional hands-on work or provide assistance and support to operatives.
Ensure all operatives carry out their duties in a diligent and professional manner, considering primarily the safety of themselves, colleagues and particularly the vulnerable residents.
Take ownership of the maintenance book reporting process, checking all books on a weekly basis, and ensuring they are kept up to date.
Where requests for work require attendance by other trades or by external contractors, assist in co-ordinating this with the Facilities Team or by ordering and overseeing works from appropriate contractors.
Complete as required any paperwork, ensuring it is legible and accurate, and forward it to the Facilities Team Leader or appropriate Kisimul manager.
Take direction and instruction from the Group Property Manager, and other appropriate Kisimul Managers where required.
Request and pass to the Group Property Manager for approval all relevant RAMS (risk assessments, method statements) from contractors for jobs prior to their commencement, ensure they comply with Kisimul Policies and Procedures, and maintain a constant knowledge of works underway.
